Six-figure of the six API 610 VS4 pumps are pour level depressant pumps which would possibly be 18m in length and the other four are methanol raise pumps that are 10m lengthy.
All of the pumps have PT100 temperature sensors which were designed and built alongside the length of the pumps to observe the temperature of every bearing individually.
The 18m long pumps incorporate a supporting system of brackets that Amarinth has designed which attaches each pump to its tank during set up making certain that because the pump is lowered into the tank it remains perfectly aligned, reducing vibration and wear during operation.
Once assembled, the pumps were independently witness examined and licensed by DNV at Amarinth’s facility in Rendlesham, UK. The pumps were then disassembled into 3m segments and shipped to Singapore where the FPSO (floating production storage and offloading unit) is being built.
The pump delivery and set up needed to align with the FPSO construct schedule. Because of the size of the pumps, they needed to be installed into the vessel’s tanks by way of the deck earlier than another deck above the pumps could probably be built. The first phase was completed successfully over the Christmas period with Amarinth’s Engineering Commissioning staff supporting the shopper with the installation and commissioning.
The FPSO will be positioned in the KG-DWN 98/2 area, roughly 22 km off the east coast of Kakinada, India. The vessel is designed to produce as much as 90 000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and have a 1.3-million-barrel storage facility. It will be geared up to handle the monsoon circumstances prevalent at the field.
